This SORENA backpack is pieced from jajim cloth woven in narrow rust and charcoal bands, several separate strips stitched edge to edge to build one continuous panel wide enough for a backpack face. The straps and base are finished in leather chosen heavier than the bag's other hardware, since backpack straps carry more repeated strain than a handbag handle ever does. Where each strip meets the next, the color bands don't quite align — left visible on purpose rather than hidden under a seam.
