No two ASTA cosmetic bags are quite the same, since each embroiderer works out a fresh pattern rather than repeating one from a previous piece. What stays consistent is the craft: a jajim textile hand-woven from handspun sheep's wool, colored with plant dyes, then built into a small case with a wide zippered opening and an easy-clean synthetic lining. At 7 × 7 cm, it's equally at home holding lipstick and brushes on a trip or standing in as a pencil case at a desk.
